> recruiting processINTERVIEW TIPS
Do Your Research Some of the questions you will be asked in your interview will revolve around why you applied to the Firm and why you are interested in a legal career. Think about what it is about us that attracted you to the Firm, how we are different from other firms, our key practice areas and which recent deals you have found interesting. A genuine interest in the practice of law and in our Firm goes a long way with our interviewers.
Answer and Ask Questions With Confidence
- If you do not understand a question, ask the interviewer to repeat it or to provide clarification.
- Think about the question before giving an answer; do not jump in with the first thing that comes into your head.
- Think about the skills you have learned and developed over the years. Show how they can be transferred to your role as a Summer Associate and as an associate.
- Remember that a good interview is a two-way process. It is just as important that your questions are answered so that you can see if this is the type of firm you want to join to start your career.
- Do not simply ask questions you think the Firm will want to hear. Instead, think about what you need to know in order to make an informed decision. Was there anything in the recruiting brochure, on the careers site or in the press that you would like clarified?
Good luck!
